Target is again launching the Give With Target back-to-school education giving initiative on Facebook. As part of this program, Target and celebrity partners will ask guests to help donate $5 million to schools nationwide to give teachers and students the resources they need.
Starting today, guests can visit Target’s Facebook page to vote for the school of their choice once a week. When a school receives 25 votes, Target will donate $1 per vote, with a maximum donation of $10,000 per school. The campaign runs through Sept. 21 or until the full $5 million has been allocated.
At the end of the campaign, the school that reaches 10,000 votes first or receives the highest number of votes also will receive a special celebration with appearances by our “Class of 2013” celebrity partners, including:
- Actress, disc jockey and television personality, La La Anthony
- Country music recording artist and 2013 Academy of Country Music “Entertainer of the Year,” Luke Bryan
- Award-winning actress and activist, Sophia Bush
- Gold-winning U.S. gymnast and Olympic All-Around champion, Gabrielle Douglas
- Super Bowl and “Dancing With The Stars” champion and community advocate, Donald Driver
Check out the Give With Target app, vote for a school and share with your network via social channels (#GiveWithTarget).
The program is part of Target’s commitment to give $1 billion to education by the end of 2015, a commitment that involves an investment. Last year’s Give with Target effort reached 30,000 schools and generated a huge response from communities. They hope to reach even more schools and students this year.
