If you’re trying to make the case that early learning is worth the investment–and who isn’t?–check out this new resource from the Alliance for Early Success and Child Trends.

The Research Base for a Birth Through Age Eight State Policy Framework, includes citations and evidence for policies that lead to better outcomes for vulnerable children from birth through third grade. It expands on a policy framework released by the Alliance earlier this year and on Research At-A-Glance from Child Trends, a nonpartisan research center.

The report details the research into health, family support and learning in this critical period for child development. It also lays out state policy steps that can support children from low-income families in school.

“It’s a bold statement to say that these policies WILL lead to better outcomes,” Alliance Executive Director Lisa Klein said in a blog post. “That’s where this new resources come into play.  Policymakers want and need solid choices backed by research in order to invest public dollars wisely. At the Alliance we feel exactly the same. ”
