The 2012 Grade-Level Reading Communities Network Conference and All-America City Awards Ceremony that ran from June 30–July 2 in Denver brought together participants representing many of the 124 cities, counties and towns in our Network to help start the next chapter of the Campaign. Experts in early literacy, state and federal officials, and national foundation and nonprofit leaders met with community groups to explore ways to scale and sustain strategies to improve school readiness, reduce chronic absence, prevent summer learning loss, engage parents, improve teaching quality and promote coordinated early childhood funding and policy.
